Noida: Excitement spread out in the entire campus of AAFT University when the news that Vidisha Baliyan, a modelling student from AAFT, won the international title of Miss Deaf World 2019 at competition at South Africa on Friday.
“AAFTian Vidhisha Baliyan, a 21-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh, turned into the primary Indian to win the Miss Deaf World exhibition. Baliyan was picked the winner among 11 finalists from 16 partaking nations in the finals. The South African contender was the second place. The Miss and Mister Deaf World show was first organised in 2001”, educated Dr. Sandeep Marwah (Chancellor AAFT University).
Originally from Muzaffarnagar in UP, Baliyan’s family as of now lives in Ghaziabad. She prepared for the pageant in Gurgaon and Noida. She is additionally a former international tennis player and has represented India in the Deaflympics. She participated in the beauty pageant after severe back injury.
“I was inspired participate in the pageant to gain confidence and build up my personality from AAFT. Through this platform I likewise want to motivate the deaf community to concentrate on the ability they have, and not be upset about what they don’t have”, she said.
