International Labour Day observed at Marwah Studios

Noida: “International Labour Day – otherwise called May Day or International Workers’ Day – celebrates the struggle, devotion and commitment of the working class and is a yearly public holiday in several nations. While a considerable lot of us know it as an additional off day at work, not many know about its origins”, informed Dr. Sandeep Marwah (Ambassador of International Human Rights Organization affiliated to United Nations) while conversing with young aspirants of media at Asian Academy of Film and Television.

“The genesis of this day is in the labour union movement in the United States in the 19th century, when industrialists abused the working class and made them work somewhere over 15 hours every day. The movement included protests that delivered a solid hit to the cycle of exploitation and made eight-hour working days a reality”,included Dr. Marwah who is likewise patron to IFUNA – Indian Federation of United Nations Associations.
