On the arrival of H.E. K.L. Ganju, the Consul General of Comoros to India, the global headquarters of International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) at Noida Film City was filled with a newfound enthusiasm and energy. It was the 12th International Festival of Cell Phone Cinema that the General had come down to inaugurate. The Consul General commented that Comoros is proud and excited to be joining hands with ICMEI and working towards expanding cultural business and diplomacy. Mentioning Dr. Sandeep Marwah and his team, the General said that he hopes of bigger and better results under his great leadership.
“I am lucky as this is the first event I am attending after being elected in general body meeting of Honorary Consular Corps Diplomatique – India (HCCD-I) as the President of the Corps for a term of three years. Formation of Cultural forum is a powerful action which is going to support me”, Mr. Ganju was quoted as saying.
General Ganju nominated Dr. Sandeep Marwah (President of ICMEI and Marwah Studios) as the Chair of the forum. Dr. Marwah presented the Patronship to Mr Ganju.
A poster with the flags of both countries, India and Comoros, was released to mark this special occasion and to signify the relationship between the two countries. A formal Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the two countries shortly. ICMEI will begin to provide and support the Consul General’s office with cultural activities. Dr. Sandeep Marwah commented that ICMEI is eager to develop and promote relationships between India and Comoros through the medium of India’s rich art and culture.
Later in the day, AAFT mementos were presented to some of the prominent members of the Chamber attending the event. Vice Chancellor of Oriental University Dr. Devendra Pathak, Vice Chancellor of Himalayan Garwal University Prof. N.K. Sinha, Film Maker Ashok Tyagi and Dean AAFT Yogesh Mishra also spoke on Cell phone Cinema and India’s relations with Comoros.
