Noida: Every year on the 15th of January, Army Day is celebrated in India in honour of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa’s (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India in 1949.
“The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi as well as in all headquarters. Today on 15 January 2019, we are celebrating 71st Indian Army Day at AAFT,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.
Col. Pradeep Gupta, Director of AAFT School of Mass Communication and Journalism mentioned how celebrating this day is like a salute to the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens.
“Many people might not be aware that Dr. Sandeep Marwah has given 8 years to Para Military Force – Delhi Home Guards and started his journey as Battalion Commander and rose to the level of District Commandant, becoming probably the youngest person to reach to the level of Colonel. He also had great interest in Scouting and NCC in school and college level. He was selected as Special Police Officer and then Joined Delhi Home Guards. He is the recipient of many awards and medals in forces including 8 Parades on 26th of January which he participated in.” said Special Police Officer Sunil Parashar.
